Each year billions of dollars are spent on information security products that claim to provide various levels of defense against cyber theft. These products are purchased and implemented with hopes of protecting the critical data of individuals, Fortune 500 companies and governments around the world. Yet each day there are new attacks successfully perpetrated by lone hackers as well as sophisticated syndicates of cyber criminals, who easily circumvent these elaborately constructed protective measures to pilfer inconceivable sums of money, as well as the personal and financial information of millions.
The truth is that none of these products offer a real solution, only temporary software patches which slow the leak of sensitive information. They are inevitably exploited and all need to be routinely updated. The reason for this ongoing game of catch up is that the accepted approach to solving the information security problem is fundamentally flawed. Current IT security products are reactive responses to ongoing threats. Today's data protection products focus on recognizing various forms of malware, by signature detection or other reactive methods. This is because the original hardware architecture on which a PC is based was not designed with security in mind. It was designed for powerful computing, networking and a variety of other functions, but never for security.
With this fundamental architectural defect in mind, we can see that all of today's software based security products are not really solutions. While they are currently the accepted means of data protection, even the most popular anti-virus and firewall products are only effective some of the time. None of them address the inherent problem within the hardware of a PC.
A Different Approach
In 2004 a technology company named InZero Systems, based in the Technology Corridor of Northern Virginia, dedicated itself to resolving these glaring fundamental security issues once and for all. InZero Systems' scientists soon concluded that software based products, retroactively designed to protect the PC, will always be inadequate and one step behind the cyber criminals. A different approach emerged, based on a vision to create the truly secure PC. InZero Systems' scientists concentrated their efforts on redesigning the architecture of the hardware. The PC itself had to be redesigned with security mechanisms integrated directly into its hardware.
In effect, this approach is not to understand or identify specific threats and try to stop them like software products do, but instead to create an environment where these threats cannot execute. The mission is to make available the full capabilities, convenience, and productivity of the internet to governments and private enterprises, while eliminating the fear and expense of being compromised or robbed of critical data.
The InZero Security Platform: A Complete IT Security Solution
InZero System's solution is called the InZero Security Platform; it is an enterprise level, complete IT security solution. The security component of the platform is a palm sized hardware device called the InZero Gateway. It easily attaches to a standard PC with a USB cable and is a powerful security appliance, containing its own CPUs, OS, and a suite of applications (browser, IM, VoIP client, office software, pdf, etc.). The InZero Gateway only runs preloaded applications. This technology is not about recognizing or understanding malware and viruses, which is the traditional reactive response. Instead the InZero Gateway assumes that everything is a potential threat and therefore it is denied execution space. Only allowed applications are permitted to execute. Files are transferred securely to and from the untrusted network using a patented conversion engine. In essence, it is a secure PC, built to stand guard over your PC and network.
While the InZero Gateway defends critical data, the Management Console and Service provide powerful granular management capabilities over the protected network. A network administrator can quickly and conveniently establish and apply security policies, certificates, user permissions and create VPNs with InZero's 10-click process.
Tested Technology and Proven Protection
InZero's revolutionary technology has been tested by several top IT security organizations and industry experts, and reviews of its security capabilities have been consistently positive.
"The InZero approach is like nothing seen before in the PC world for protection against malware. It is suitable for use in environments with a threat model that includes determined resourceful attackers, such as major governments." Philip R. Zimmermann, the creator of Pretty Good Privacy
The technology has been described as "unhackable", and while InZero Systems stops short of making this claim, truth be told, the InZero Security Platform has never been breached.
In order to prove the capabilities of its solution, InZero has developed the "InZero Hackers Challenge". A challenge to all expert and amateur hackers was issued recently, giving them ongoing external network access to a PC protected with InZero Security Platform. "To fully demonstrate the exceptional level of security we offer to our commercial and government customers, we will provide an unprecedented level of access to the PC being attacked. We will follow hackers' instructions and click on all the links they send us - acting the way many users do in actual live environments. We claim that the protected PC will remain free of malware." says Alex Pyntikov, COO of InZero Systems.
New Technology to Stop All Online Threats
The InZero Security Platform is secure by design and the only data protection solution capable of stopping all online threats. This revolutionary approach to IT security along with the powerful administrative tools creates a combination of protection and functionality that is available exclusively through the InZero Security Platform.
