From the airport
Just 12 kilometres southwest of the city centre, Frankfurt Airport is the second busiest in Europe. Connections to downtown Frankfurt are easily obtained either via taxi, or bus, or  train.

Where to make the €
The stock exchange belongs to Deutsche Börse and is the second largest stock exchange in Europe. In terms of market capitalization, Deutsche Börse is the largest stock exchange in the world.

The Bankenviertel is an area in the city centre and though it is not an official city district, it is a commonly used name to describe the area where most of Germany’s major bank headquarters are. The European Central Bank and Commerzbank are some of the well-known institutions based here.

Getting around
The city has two underground railway systems, the U-Bahn and the S-Bahn, as well as an aboveground tram system known as Straßenbahn. There are 9 Straßenbahn lines, with trams arriving usually every 10 minutes. When leaving the city the S-Bahn travels aboveground. It provides access to the Frankfurt Trade Fair, the airport, stadium and nearby cities and smaller towns.

Buses complete the Frankfurt public transportation system, with night buses taking over at 1:30 am to 3:30 am on Friday and Saturday nights, taxis can be found outside most S-Bahn or U-Bahn stations and major intersections. Taxis can be obtained at ranks or by calling an operator, and though it is not normal practice, you can hail a taxi on the street.
